The aim of Mills & Co is to provide high quality legal advice at a reasonable cost.

The firm recognises that, in commercial matters, speed of response may be paramount. Its partners are therefore always available, inside and outside office hours, to give advice in emergency situations.

The firm is a relatively small one, but is well equipped, in terms of organisation and equipment, to deal with large matters. In the year 2000, for example, the firm represented the builders of The Derbyshire through a very extensive judicial enquiry. More recently the firm has acted for MSC in relation to the grounding of the vessel "MSC Napoli" off Branscombe beach on the south coast of England.

The firm will not undertake work for clients in areas of the law where it has little knowledge or experience, but will refer clients to other law firms with relevant expertise.

Where specialist assistance is needed, for example from foreign lawyers or from a technical point of view, Mills & Co has an extensive range of expert contacts with whom its lawyers have worked on previous occasions.
